6013 is a new medium strength aerospace alloy that provides improved corrosion resistance and formability for use in aerospace applications including primary aircraft structures. Alloy 6013 is an aluminum-magnesium-silicon-copper alloy that has yield strengths 12% higher than alclad 2024-T3 and is virtually immune to exfoliation and stress corrosion cracking. Industry use has demonstrated that 6013 in the T4 condition has better stretch forming characteristics than other aerospace aluminum alloys. Parts can be formed in the T4 condition and aged to the T6 condition without costly heat-treating or annealing operations. Heat treatable.
Uses for 6013 include primary structural applications including fuselage panels, leading and trailing edges and engine cowlings. Lockheed has chosen 6013-T6 for the fuselage of the Navy's P-7A aircraft. Canadair has specified 6013-T6 for the leading edges of the Regional Jet.
Questair has been producing the Questair kit aircraft since 1986 entirely from 6013. Major jet aircraft builders are considering 6013 for applications on large commercial aircraft.
Alloy 6013 is receiving consideration in most new programs taking advantage of the improved formability, lower density and corrosion resistance.
While all the 6000 series extruded aluminum tubes used by other manufacturers have a tensile strength (measured in PSI) of about 30,000. Drawn aluminum 6013 can exceed 64,000 PSI.

This may be the only automotive application.
Posted by eaton53 on 23rd Mar 2019
I will be using this flagpole, not for a residential application, but to fly flags at car shows. I have a very rare original Merkur XR4Ti and have a very extensive display. I've found only one minor issue.
The flagpole has big spring pins that pop out when they align with the segment below.
The one (easily fixable) design flaw with this pole is there's a little alignment dot on the pole just above the pin on one side only.
If the pin is on the other side of the pole while you're raising it and you miss it, you can pull the pin out of the segment below.
Then you gotta fiddle with it to get it back inside the lower segment and into the hole. This thing's not super light, so that's not good!
So I took a paint pen and made a line that goes all the way around the pole a few inches above the dot.
Then I made another vertical line down to the dot.
You can't miss these lines... line up the vertical line with the hole in the segment below and it pops right in every time.
The only other thing occurred because I'm not using it for an in-ground application. The flagpole fits into a massive custom made wheel stand made out of 3/8" thick aluminum. It's basically a big tube welded to a big plate that is held down by the car tire. Two industrial aluminum knobs secure the pole to the tube.
Because the pole is at ground level instead of 18" in the ground, the segment you're raising is at eye level instead of chest level.
It moves smoothly, but it's still a pretty good workout for the old shoulders. Going down is no problem. Gravity is your friend.
So I ordered an extra wide folding plastic step stool to get me back up to the design height... Ford Blue, of course.
Niow, raising and lowering is easy peasy. Despite being an absolute monster, it's probably 2X as fast as my skinny old twist-lock pole.
Watch it in action here, starting at the end of next month:
There will be many pictures...

I'm 67 and as a senior women I have no problems raising or lowing the flag...easy......Best flagpole ever!!!

Easy to follow directions. Received almost a week earlier than promised! Seems quite sturdy after putting up. Only detraction, and won't hold against the quality of this pole, is there was supposed to be a clip included for pushing buttons in to lower, which was not in the box.

Pole seems well built. I like the fact that it has 2 opposing latches per section (except top most only has one).
What I like about this flagpole is how it stands up to the South Dakota winds.
Posted by David Veilleux on 2nd Jun 2018
The wind is South Dakota can be relentless. So far my new flag pole has stood up to the test . It's a wonderful addition to my backyard and display it proudly. The only negative I have is the instructions. Pictures for each step would be very helpful. Still not sure if I have the set screw in correctly lol

It is steel, not painted, we originally wanted white I put in a call to Vet. Flag she explained the plus about the steel and glad we didn't have a choice :@) even from a small distance you wouldn't even notice it's not white, the telescoping idea is a great idea along with the built on swivel for the flag so no matter how the wind blows the flag doesn't tangle. The person who took my order was fantastic I bothered her so many times because the flag was for a vaca home and we were to be there for a short window of time. Service was beyond fantastic. Do give them at least 2 weeks and if in doubt call them.

Very nice & sturdy flag pole, could have been packaged better, the pole beat the gold ball at the top so bad it's not useable, still waiting for a replacement, but that's not the falt of the pole. Only thing that could improve on is a plastic collar on the sleeve like on the rest of the sections would look higher quality & help keep out dirt & water.

After having two residential flag poles break from metal fatigue in the same year, I decided on a thicker gauge construction by selecting this product. I'm impressed with the quality of construction and ease of installation and operation.

I have been looking for what i would consider a quality flag pole. Found it. This is about as nice as you can get for a telescoping pole. Very well made with collars between sections to keep water from getting between section. Highly recommended.
Great value for 20' Flag Pole
Posted by Unknown on 21st Oct 2014
Received and installed the Flag Pole and found it to be sturdy and attractive. It arrived quickly, the install instructions were clear, and the pole is easy to raise and lower. It is everything I could want in a flag pole.
Posted by Arthur W. on 23rd May 2014
This pole replaced my old pole of almost 20 years. The previous pole rusted away and blew down in a heavy wind. I don't expect to ever have any trouble with this pole. It was easy to install and is a breeze to raise and lower. Truly a great product.
20 ft 10 gage flag pole
Posted by David on 7th Nov 2013
This flag pole is the best one I have seen so far. I bet my house would fall before this flag pole does. It is very easy to lower and raise. It's been windy the past 2 days and the flag goes with the wind it hasn't wrapped around the pole once.
Great Fag Pole!

Ordered the 20' telescoping flag pole. I arrived on time and was simple to install. By far, the best residential flag pole I have ever seen. Extremely well made, very strong and durable. Got 'tested' in 50MPH winds the other day. Replaced a cheapie from Harbor Freight. No comparison! This unit is STURDY. My neighbors that have flag poles are very impressed and talking about replacing theirs, too.
My American Flag
Posted by John on 29th Apr 2013
This is an AWESOME flag pole. Heavy duty, easy to follow instructions and easy to install. Fast shipping and great communication from the company staff. Looks great and best of all....my American Flag is flying on a beautiful Flag Pole made in the USA. This is worth the price. I don't want to fly my flag on a pole made in China or anywhere but America.
I have flag pole envy
Posted by Steve on 23rd Apr 2013
I bought an original 25' telescope pole a year or so ago and loved it. Very sturdy and the tallest one on the block. I decided to get my father-in-law on so that he could display both his American flag and his Marine Corp flag. I purchased the new version of the 20', not the premium. This thing is a vast improvement over the original one I bought. The addition of the plastic sleeved in between the section make this pole very study and true.
If you are looking for a flagpole that you will not need to worry about every time the wind blow and it rains then this is the one for you. Well worth every penny. Extremely please with this new design.
Thanks Veteran Flags for selling a great quality American made product.

Flag Pole Truely Heaver than Other Heavy Duty Poles

The flagpole is noticably thicker that what is considered heavy duty. Looks like it will last for a while. Easily installed. Arrived as indicated.
My U.S. Flag story
Posted by Dean on 7th May 2012
I just ordered the 20' 10 gauge telescoping flagpole for my "new to me", 14yr. old home and would like to share my flag story with you. I am a 6yr. Navy Vet '87-'94, VA-196(A6 Intruders) and very patriotic, I love my U.S. Flag. I have worked 18yrs. for the USPS and proud of the Red, White and Blue. So back to the story, about six years ago I moved into an apartment complex called Vintage Creek Apartments in Elk Grove, CA. The first thing I put up was, yep you guessed it, my U.S. Flag. My flag properly flew from my balcony/patio 24/7. After the third year living there I received a letter from Management telling me that my flag had to come down, because someone was offended. It flew. Then they said that it wasn't fair that other people could not hang things, as it was against the rules. It flew. After three months of demanding letters, calls. It flew. I was fully supported by Mr. Simpson(Disabled Vet) who writes for the E.G. Citizen, he wrote about my flag at least three times. I was also awarded by the local VFW Post 2073 the Patriots Award 2009 for the "Honor that he continually demonstrates to our American flag." Then the owners of the apartments wanted to have a meeting and at that meeting they offered to "buy" my flag, I explained to them that too many have gave all for "my" flag and you should never put a price on that. They also learned about the HR42(109th) "Freedom to Display the American Flag Act of 2005." A wonderful person by the name of Ms. Aleman, who I think retired from the Superior Court of Sacramento(law?) supported me at the meeting. All my family and friends gave support. My sister was hotter than you know what and I'm glad she skipped the meeting. So, my flag flew for the remainder of my time spent at Vintage Creek. And now I can't wait to install my first flag pole and I am very proud to have bought it from "The Veterans Flag Depot." My heartfelt thanks goes out to all Vets and those still serving. God Bless, Dean.
